There's nothing quite so wonderful as having a place to invite your friends that is unique, offers something for everyone, includes the very best and freshest food, and provides a comfortable bed and delicious breakfast the next morning. Oh, and the coolest pavillion for live music.

What started as an opportunity to support a local gem (newly owned and operated by Carol Franklin and Cable Kinnard) and have a gathering of friends near and far, became the hit dinner and show of the summer. Carol is a creative and conscientious cook (ask for her spare ribs and stuffed artichoke hearts!) and both she and Cable are attentive inn keepers. Everyone raved about the place, the food, and the musical talent (the Blue Mountain Ramblers from Carlisle, PA).

Don't miss an opportunity to join a dinner and show or plan one, and be sure to stay overnight. (I had a great night's sleep, and breakfast on the porch the next morning included a nature show on the creek by one of the guests, a fly fisherman, and several great blue herons.)

I +remember this beautiful lodge from my early childhood. Our grandparents would take us here for Sunday family style dinner. They would always call ahead and ask what they were serving. Yes we all had our favorites. I clearly remember sitting on the porch and watching the water and I loved the smell of the land. I have been looking for this Retreat for 20+ years. I can't wait to return. Diana L. Loftiss My Familys' name is Walsh perhaps you might find it if the kept the reservation book from 1960-1970. Warm Regards,

I didn't know about the lodge until the late 90's. That's when I was lucky enough to be included in a good friends "group" gathering at the lodge. When one couple couldn't go on the weekend trip, we were asked and once you're in....you're IN! This was the time when Al Hetrick owned it and our group of 14 or so had the lodge for the whole weekend!!! Friday to Sunday it was ours and it was MARVELOUS!!!! I remember coming on Friday night for the very first time....it was dark when we got there so I could only appreciate the inside of the lodge first. But the next morning I went out to our car to get the bag that held our toiletries and when I saw the view my breath was literally taken away!!! The stream out front, the rising hill on the other side....I couldn't wait to get back inside to wake my husband and tell him he needed to get up and come outside!!! Mr. Hetrick took great care of his guests as I'm sure the new owners do. I miss coming to the lodge...its been years since we've been there but would love to bring our son with us now that he's older and would appreciate it more. We would love to come back to our favorite place in the woods!
